Bios: Dennis Timblin, Gary Johnson

Dennis Timblin: 32 years of marriage. Waiting for eighth grandchild in October. Had 31st-year party for working at Encoder Products in Westmond.

Been to India, China and Wales for the company.

Still enjoy hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling.

Getting prepared for retirement.

Gary Johnson: I've never attended a 1965 reunion so here's my one-pager for the last 40 years. I graduated from the University of Idaho in 1972 and worked my way through college fighting forest fires. Little did I know it would turn out to be a 40-year profession.

I recently retired from fire fighting (mandatory at age 57). My career included 7 years with the National Park Service in Yellowstone, 14 years as an Alaskan smokejumper, 10 years as an air attack supervisor and 8 years as a fire management officer in Carson City, Nevada.

I married my wife Diane in 1977, and we built our Sandpoint home in Bottle Bay that same year. We ran a cross country ski school in Sandpoint from 1974 to 1986. We traveled a bunch in those days. We had our first daughter Dawn in 1983, and Emily came along in 1986.

In 1987, I decided jumping out of airplanes into fires was not the job for a responsible father of two. We moved to Nevada, and I continued my fire career there. Our last daughter will graduate from high school, and Diane and I plan to move back to Idaho full time in June, 2005.

Odds and Ends: In 1973, along with some other friends, I made the first winter climb of Chimney Rock. Diane and I are still avid skiers, and my favorite skiing buddies include Dann Hall, Doug Abromeit and Chris Thompson--all 1965'ers.

We enjoy mountaineering, cross country skiing, kayaking and biking. Springtime, we enjoy recycling the snow and rafting the rivers of the Sierra Mountains.

We've returned to Sandpoint often and are looking forward to a permanent return. I recently did a remodel and addition to our Sandpoint home.

See you at the reunion!!!
