Hi Marianne,
The town of Mineral is on a lake named the same. The area was named for all the mineral deposits.Mostly arsenic.
This is a photo of Mt. Rainier. This is about 4 blocks from our home. (Gorgeous picture; I don't know how to post them--Marianne).
I have lived here since 1974. I moved to Tacoma in 1972. I really love it here. My mom lived with us until she passed away in '84. It is such a short drive to the coast. One of my favorite places to go. We try to get to the ocean a couple of times a year. When I don't go I get withdrawls.
Mineral is pretty small. We have around 150 people and about that many dogs and cats. I work at a supermarket in Eatonville which is 17 miles on way.
Ernie and I will have our 31st anniversary in June. Never did have any kids. Have lots of nieces and nephews here and loads of friends who are more than willing to share.
I will miss not seeing every one this year. I have the blogspot on favorites so I can check it often.
Thanks again and keep in touch. I am look forward to your next book.
Sincerely,
Dora
