Duane Battien --- In Memoriam

Duane K. Battien, 62, passed away May 13 at his home in Malden, Wash. He was born Aug. 14, 1947.
Duane dedicated 37 years of his life to our country and retired in 2003 as a Chief Master Sergeant with the 141st Squadron of the Washington Air National Guard stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Duane was a loving, caring man who devoted his life to helping others including his service as a volunteer firefighter for the town of Malden. Duane had a passion for Gold Wing motorcycles and was a proud member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous friends and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Duane is survived by his son Klint, step-daughter Carmen and her children, sisters Linda and Roxanne, and his long-time companion Phyllis, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 22 at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at the Cheney Community Church, 1307 Third St., Cheney. A celebration of Duane’s life will immediately follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kramer Funeral Home, Tekoa, Wash.
